Pöppelmann Doubles In Size

Pöppelmann Plastics USA expanded its facilities in Claremont, N.C., back in May with the addition of an $8 million warehouse. The warehouse is now in full operation, less than two years after the German manufacturer established roots in the United States
“The 55,000-square foot warehouse now in operation is the second building in a master plan for what will be a multi-operational complex on our 27.4-acre site,” says Jack Shelton, president of Pöppelmann. “Eventually, we plan for the complex to include production and sales for our other divisions, but we do not yet have a timeline for that. In the near future, we will confine our focus to horticultural products.”
The addition of the warehouse is possible for Pöppelmann in part because of its tremendous growth in 2008. Shelton says the company posted record growth last year.
“Enthusiastic sales, superior service, high-quality products and fostering partnerships with our customers are the reasons for our good growth,” he says. “Also, the U.S. operation reflects the values of our family-owned parent company. For example, we won’t take an order we cannot fill, and we quote a delivery date to a customer within 48 hours.”
