SPR Expands Relationship with ExxonMobil Through New Texas Facility
SPR, a member of the global Armando Alvarez Group, is expanding its relationship with ExxonMobil Signature Polymers with the startup of a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Texas dedicated to specialized and technical films for professional agriculture.
The facility was designed from the ground up with agriculture as its singular focus. From equipment selection to operational layout, every aspect of the plant is engineered to support the unique needs of growers throughout the U.S. and the broader Americas region. The facility will manufacture a wide range of agricultural films, including mulch films, silage and grain storage solutions, greenhouse films, and nursery covers, among other high-performance products.
“This facility has one singular purpose: delivering technical film solutions for professional growers and farmers,” says Trevor Wells, SPR’s Vice President of Sales. “By producing locally in Texas, we can respond faster to customer needs, support critical growing seasons, and deliver consistent quality with reduced lead times.”
ExxonMobil Signature Polymers resins will be leveraged by SPR at the new facility to help create agricultural films. These materials help increase durability and reliability to support crop protection, optimize resources, and improve productivity. The facility will produce Armada horticulture solutions and Ranger crop packaging products utilizing Exceed™ high-performance polyethylene as building blocks. With the addition of this new facility, SPR now supports every stage of crop production more comprehensively, from substrates and fertilizers used in professional growing applications to the films and covers used for crop and grain protection.
“Innovation in agriculture is really about doing more, with less,” says Matt Borgmeyer, Global Polyethylene Technology Development Manager at ExxonMobil. “Whether that’s improving durability, enhancing circularity, or increasing efficiency for our farmers. At ExxonMobil, we don’t just provide raw materials, we engineer performance.”
