My community participates in America in Bloom and I can attest to the program’s value to the industry. Not only do WE buy lots of plants from local growers, now residents and businesses do, too. It’s a great program and it can grow to be bigger with additional funding. Most town governments in New England cannot afford to fund plantings in public spaces. America in Bloom spreads that burden effectively to create communities where groups collaborate to improve the entire town. It’s not just about the flowers, but the flowers certainly attract notice and open the way for improvements in the environment, historic preservation, urban forestry and more. Please donate!
