Last Chance For College Of Knowledge

The Michigan Greenhouse Growers Expo in November will provide the last opportunity for those who would like to begin and complete Michigan State University’s College of Knowledge grower education program.

Twelve courses are offered in three tracks of four courses. Participants who complete all 12 courses and pass their exams will receive a professional certificate that recognizes them as greenhouse growers. The courses are offered at the Michigan expo in Lansing, Mich., in November and the OFA Short Course in Columbus, Ohio, in July.

Tracks I and III will be offered at Lansing Center in Michigan on November 6 and 7. Track I courses include: Seedling Plug Production, Root Zone Management, Greenhouse Disease Management and Greenhouse Insect Management. Track III courses include: Potted Plant Production, Greenhouse Temperature Management, Physiological Disorders and Hanging Baskets and Containers.

This November will be the last opportunity to take Track I. Track II will be offered July 11-12, 2008 at OFA Short Course. Then the program will conclude November 4-5, 2008 with Track III in Michigan.
