Hines Growers is relaunching its popular Patio Tropics line with new proprietary genetics and exclusive, never-before-seen plants for decks, patios and landscapes.

"For the garden centers, this means they'll have intense color for instant impact and greater impulse buying by consumers from May to October," says Joe Gray, Hines' senior vice president. "And, it's great news for colder climates like the Northeast, where consumers who long for tropical color can now grow plants from spring through fall."

Gray says all plants in Patio Tropics feature abundant blooms on unique and substantial plants. "We've scoured the world for exceptional plants with richly colored blooms that create quick and easy patio décor and fit today's busy lifestyles," Gray says.

Featured new plants in the Patio Tropics rollout include new crinum and adeniums, ixora, Euphorbia milli and mandevilla. Patio Tropics like Bambino bougainvillea, Agapanthus and new Bahama Bay hibiscus are crossovers included in Hines' Bloomtastic! program.

Patio Tropics are available in branded 10- to 14-inch sizes with branded tags, labels, signage and QR codes for smartphone users. Both lines are available in 2012 independent garden centers and large retailers like Home Depot.
