More Varieties Trialed at UGA During 2024 Southern Garden Tour
The 2024 Southern Garden Tour continued on Wednesday, June 5, with an open house at the University of Georgia Trial Garden in Athens, GA. Trial Manager Sandy Begani says the trial includes 450 varieties this year, 50 more than last year, with the plants treated in the same manner that master gardeners would treat their own gardens. The breeders that submit varieties may select where they want the plants to be trialed, including a landscape bed, container, or hanging basket. Many varieties of cuphea, geranium, and sun-tolerant New Guinea impatiens are included in the trial this year. Check out the following slideshow with a few highlights collected from the UGA trials.
