A Look at Foliage Plants from Plantpeddler’s Variety Day 2025
As vibrant as the annuals and perennials were at Plantpeddler’s Variety Day 2025, the foliage plants brought an equally impressive showing. From bold coleus to unique trifoliums, these varieties stood out for their ability to bring texture, contrast, and style to containers and landscapes alike.

Two introductions from Kientzler were clear favorites: Coleus ‘TerraScape All That Jazz’, with its bright, layered colors, and Coleus ‘Skeletal’, with its strikingly deep lobes that added instant architectural appeal. I also couldn’t stop admiring the trifoliums on display — especially Trifolium ‘4 Luck Red Stripes Clover’ from Green Fuse Botanicals, which earned my first-place vote.
Beyond these highlights, other foliage plants stole the show with their versatility and bold tones. Vibrant lime-green potato vines caught attention for their energy and brightness, while deep chocolate-purple foliage evoked a moody, gothic garden aesthetic. Each brought something unique to the display.
Plantpeddler’s trials reinforced once again that variety days aren’t just about florals. Foliage can be just as memorable, and sometimes even more impactful.
