Costa Farms Season Premiere Offers a Look Ahead at Hot Plants for 2022
Costa Farms’ Season Premiere in Miami, FL, is always a fun way to kick off the year and prepare for spring. This year, the company opened its Trial Garden in early March 4-5 to brokers, growers, and other members of the industry for an opportunity to preview 2022 new plant varieties.
The Trial Garden hosted genetics from leading plant breeders from around the world. In addition to new plant varieties in-ground, Costa Farms is also growing them out in containers as they appear in garden centers.
Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic eliminated travel as an option for many attendees this year. Fortunately, Costa Farms is offering several ways to take a virtual look at new varieties coming down the pipeline, starting with the Season Premiere website. From there, interested growers and other industry members can check out:
- A highlights video from the Costa R&D team calling out some of the top performers in the garden so far.
- A walk through the trial garden via a 360-degree photography experience. Visitors can walk the row beds both Week 3 and Week 8 to see how their favorite new varieties have progressed.
- A video series highlighting breeders’ top picks in the Trial Garden from Week 8. Check out the hot annuals here and the hot new perennials here.
Costa Farms plans to offer more videos highlighting top-performing genetics further into spring and summer.
