Domestic Hemp Production Final Rule Webinar Now Available
The USDA ARS has released a webinar outlining the domestic hemp production Final Rule. This webinar was pre-recorded and explains all key provisions established by the USDA’s Hemp Production Program.
The webinar aims to teach growers about licensing requirements, recordkeeping, procedures to test THC levels, disposing of non-compliant plants, and the procedures for handling violations.
While live questions will not be taken in this webinar, growers with questions are asked to email them to [email protected].
ARS also recommends participation from growers who own smaller businesses, new and beginning farmers, socially disadvantaged producers, veteran producers, underserved communities, and those who are in organizations representing these entities.
Earlier this year, the USDA announced it completed its review of the Final Rule, which would go into effect on March 22.
The Final Rule includes modifications to regulations under the interim final rule (IFR) from October 2019. These modifications come from comments and suggestions from stakeholders and after reviewing the 2020 growing season.
