The Best in Local Plants

Don’t miss the brilliant showcase of more than 300 annual and perennial varieties on display at The Ohio State University Cultivar Trials on Saturday, July 15. The trial gardens offer the opportunity to evaluate landscape and container performance in typical Central Ohio conditions.

If experiencing landscapes, botanic gardens, and conservatories makes your heart sing, you’ll also want to check out Columbus’ own Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. Once onsite, there are two tour options available. If you can’t join the tours on Monday, July 17, your registration pass will grant you free admission to Franklin Park Conservatory any time during Cultivate.

Kick Start Your Days With Keynotes

Other than grabbing a cup of coffee, there’s no better way to begin your Cultivate experience each morning than a keynote session. On Sunday, July 16, award-winning national broadcast personality Kate Delaney will talk about how hiring the right people helped her grow a radio network to five million listeners and sales of up to ten million dollars a year. You will discover how to apply these learnings to your business, regardless of your size.

Take at Least One Idea Home

When I talk to growers about their experiences at industry events, many of them share a common goal: learn at least one lesson or concept that you can apply at your own operation. Whether you’re listener to a speaker in a classroom, talking to a supplier on the trade show floor, or simply chatting with a peer in the hallway, there’s always something to learn. So make sure you’re carry around a notebook (or if you’re like me, use the Notes feature on your phone) so you can remember everything you’ve learned.

See you in Columbus!
