A Big Fresh Vegetable and Floral Event Has Gone Digital

PMA Floral AnaheimThe coronavirus pandemic has claimed another trade show, and it’s one of the biggest events in the country. On June 30, Produce Marketing Association (PMA) CEO Cathy Burns announced in a video message that the 2020 Fresh Summit Convention & Expo will be a virtual experience instead of an onsite event that was to be held in Dallas.

PMA has been bringing the global produce (both field and greenhouse-grown) and floral industries together at Fresh Summit for 71 years. The association is committed to continuing the Fresh Summit tradition of connecting buyers and sellers and convening the industry to achieve PMA’s vision of growing a healthier world.

“After thoroughly reviewing feedback from Fresh Summit attendees, exhibitors, and buyers regarding their comfort, willingness, and ability to travel this fall, and analyzing trends from state, federal, and global health authorities, it became abundantly clear that we could not hold a conference in Dallas as planned,” Burns said. “However, the world has correctly deemed our products and industry as essential, and Fresh Summit will continue to provide an opportunity for our global members to grow their businesses, celebrate the industry, and look to the future.”

Specific details on how the virtual version of Fresh Summit will work will be announced in the coming weeks. You can sign up for updates here.
