Major European Horticulture Gathering Postponed to 2023

IPM EssenIPM ESSEN, which had been scheduled for Jan. 25-28, 2022, in Essen, Germany, will not take place due to the currently difficult pandemic situation worldwide. In close consultation with its partner associations, Messe Essen will enable exhibitors who had already made plans to attend to transfer their registration to IPM ESSEN 2023. The next world’s leading trade fair for horticulture will take place Jan. 24-27, 2023. In addition, a two-day IPM Summer Edition in June 2022 will offer a mix of showcase and networking meeting.

“While we have been working full speed toward IPM ESSEN 2022, the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic has worsened considerably in the last few days,” says Oliver P. Kuhrt, CEO of Messe Essen. “Despite all the anticipation for the most important platform of the green sector, the uncertainty among the exhibitors and visitors is significant. We are therefore giving all companies that have registered so far the opportunity to transfer their registration to the 2023 edition.”

The IPM Summer Edition in June 2022 will now serve as the annual highlight for the green sector. The centerpiece of the summer meeting is a showroom that presents innovative products both on-site and online.

“The IPM Summer Edition will be held as a two-day showcase with a networking character. We want to give market participants the opportunity to meet and present innovations. Experience shows that the pandemic situation relaxes in the summer, so this format can be realized in all probability,” says Sabina Großkreuz, Head of Marketing at Messe Essen, who notes the IPM Summer Edition is not to be understood as a replacement for IPM ESSEN.
