New Plant Growth Regulator Registered in Canada

Now the plants can be sent back into the greenhouse to be readied for delivery, receiving the appropriate amount of inputs needed according to their stage of growth

Greenhouse growers in Canada have a new plant growth regulator (PGR) to add to their plant quality strategy. Concise, from Fine Americas, Inc., is now registered for use on ornamentals in Canada.

“This registration opens the door for Canadian growers to step up their growth control approach with a proven, effective tool backed by years of science and successful commercial greenhouse use,” says Greg Johnson, President, Fine Americas, Inc.

A uniconazole-p growth regulator, Concise is effective at low use rates. It reduces plant height by limiting internode elongation, resulting in more desirable, compact, and marketable plants.

According to Fine Americas, Concise has been shown to increase plant quality even in the absence of noticeable growth reductions, raising chlorophyll content leading to darker-green leaves, increased leaf thickness, stronger stems, improved water retention, and at times, increased flower number and size.
