Danziger Guatemala Hits Environmental Certification Milestone

Danziger GuetemalaFollowing a process that began in 2019, Danziger Guatemala has hit a major milestone on its path to becoming environmentally certified. The company recently received MPS-A from sustainability certification organization MPS as its first qualification on the path to becoming fully MPS-ABC certified for its sustainable environmental practices.

Danziger Guatemala started down the road to environmental certification because it would give the company the same certification as its customers. To start the process with MPS-ABC, the company did not have to change its processes too much, as it had just launched a new inventory platform.

Danziger Guatemala has national registration in the Environment Ministry of the Country, which declares it is under the sustainability requirements of the country.

“Danziger Guatemala is an example of a company where growing high-quality products is combined with efforts towards a more sustainable production and implementation of good working circumstances for employees,” says Arthij van der Veer, Area Manager at MPS. “Examples are implementation of recycling principles, efforts on reforestation onsite and in surrounding areas, and social projects in surrounding villages. We are happy that Danziger Guatemala has chosen MPS-ABC and we look forward to further extending the cooperation in the near future.”
