Expert Insights on the Keys to Successful Cannabis Production
As a relatively new horticulture crop, efficient production of cannabis is still being defined. But there are helpful insights to be found.
CropKing Inc. CEO Paul Brentlinger recently spoke with Benzinga to help define efficient cannabis production, discuss some current issues, and decipher how grower success can be achieved.
According to Brentlinger, efficient cannabis production can be defined by the constant drive to eliminate waste while maximizing desired characteristics, with these characteristics being at the center of importance.
Efficiency is based on goals such as maximum visual appeal for smokable flower, maximum oil and terpene production for extraction, maximum yield, or craft growing.
Brentlinger will be joining the upcoming Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference to go further in-depth into the topic of efficient cannabis production and its importance.
As the industry works to achieve efficient cannabis production, Brentlinger says it is important to look at some of the current issues that exist within the space. He notes fertilizers/fertigation as one of the more common issues in cannabis production. Huge operations are still hand-watering thousands of plants, while at the same time seeing smaller growers spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on fertigation skids and then turning around and feeding off the shelf, liquid hobby nutrients.
