The lineup includes:

  • Taylor Farms: This famed salad and fresh foods grower-packer is rolling out a new sustainability program. It’s already renowned for its food safety and automation systems, so expect great things from this new initiative.
  • Laguna Mist Ranch: Take a close look at how this innovative farm manages its organic fertility management and pest control options for organic production.
  • Double L Vineyard: View this vineyard’s sustainable insect controls and some of the machinery the operation uses for organic farming. This stop is also a bit of a sneak preview — the high-quality grapes grown at Double L will show up again as you sample the fare at our later stop at Morgan Winery.
  • Wilbur Ellis Research Farm: You will see a release of beneficial insects to target thrips. We’ll also visit with researchers who will discuss direct-seeded romaine lettuce planted into a reduced-nitrogen trial with six treatments.
  • Growers Transplanting: Check out the latest additions in structures and technology at this leading greenhouse operation. Learn about updates to the operation’s sustainability initiatives regarding media and waste and the use of biologicals at the greenhouse.

Workshop: The Evolution of Pest Management in Cannabis

Pest management in cannabis is evolving. This three-hour workshop, presented by Suzanne Wainwright-Evans (Owner of Buglady Consulting) will focus on proper identification of aphids, thrips, and mites and take a deep dive into management strategies. You will have access to the most up-to-date information on the insect pests cannabis growers are dealing with and learn about the latest control options available. Biological, biorational, and conventional pesticide options will be covered in detail during this can’t-miss workshop.
