Wilbur-Ellis Receives Registration of Fungicide-Bactericide for Use in Specialty Crops

Wilbur-Ellis Agribusiness has launched Spärra, a unique systemic fungicide-bactericide designed to combat phytophthora, pythium, downy mildew, powdery mildew, and other critical diseases in specialty crops. Spärra sets a new industry standard as the highest active ingredient loaded, EPA-registered phosphite available in the market today.

“Spärra’s EPA registration in California means our customers have a new tool for crops that need a broad-spectrum, systemic fungicide-bactericide for control of downy mildew, powdery mildew, pythium, phytophthora, and many other key diseases in agricultural and greenhouse crops, turf and ornamentals, and conifers and other trees. Spärra’s unique formulation improves upon a well-established and efficacious active ingredient, and we are pleased to have received this registration for the upcoming use season,” says Chris Wooley, Specialty Actives Portfolio Manager.

Spärra offers a multitude of benefits:

  • The highest concentration of EPA-registered potassium phosphite of 59.24% mono- and di-potassium salts of phosphorous acid, making it a very effective solution for disease control. This unique formulation ensures maximum effectiveness against a wide range of fungal and bacterial infections.
  • Spärra is highly compatible for tank mixing with agricultural products used at a low rate. This compatibility allows growers to conveniently integrate Spärra into their existing crop management programs, optimizing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of their spraying operations. A jar test should always be performed before mixing products to ensure compatibility.
  • Spärra retains its efficacy over an extended period.
