Energy-efficiency advocate Resource Innovation Institute (RII) will conduct a trio of unique virtual workshops this year. Each of its Efficient Yields cultivation workshops is designed to help growers, architects, engineers, and contractors learn more about cost-saving cultivation best practices and utility incentives that can help growers afford efficient lighting and heating and ventilation solutions.

“These workshops are a great way to engage with the people who are shaping the industry’s best practices,” says RII Executive Director Derek Smith. “More importantly, though, they’re a way for participants to realize real cost savings that can come from implementing effective resource-efficiency measures.”

The workshops are free, and will feature leading cultivators and industry experts, including contributors to RII’s peer-reviewed Best Practices Guides on LED Lighting and HVAC. Curated experts featured at the events are knowledgeable in a range of topics, from facility design to cultivating with LED lighting to dehumidification.

All of the workshops are designed to be educational, and none are underwritten by companies seeking to sell products. Consumers Energy and Lansing Board of Water & Light are co-sponsoring the events.

Note: Due to the coronavirus, each of the workshops will now be virtual presentations.

RII’s first workshop, “How to Improve Profit and Grow Better Plants: Best Practices on Energy Efficient Cultivation,” is scheduled to be held virtually on April 16. Speakers include Brian Anderson, Principal and Co-Founder, Anderson Porter Design; Brian Kammers, President, Desert Aire; and Corinne Wilder, VP of Global Commercial Operations, Fluence Bioengineering. For more information, visit RII’s Event page. Additional virtual events will take place on May 19 and on September 15.

Though the workshops are free to attend, participants must register at ResourceInnovation.org/Events.
